So here we are, at another social networking site--hopelessly hoping that well maybe this one is better than the others. The lovely xanga, which most of us forgot existed in middle school, the blogspot, that most set up and never use, the livejournal we kind of keep updated, but by kind of--I mean we post entries once a year. What is it that is so appealing to us about sharing our deepest thoughts, fears, and emotions with the rest of the world? We put it out there for everyone to read; our friends, strangers, stalkers, etc. Yet we're still doing it for some reason. Is it to find connection between two people? Maybe by two artworks two people can agree on and join together to create the perfect illustration? Or is it that really we've all gotten so incredibly boring we'd rather sit here posting to the rest of the world about things than actually doing them? Of course, some of us post and do. That's my favorite. I enjoy writing, being open, etc. And I enjoy social networking. It's really all just a map of complex confusion we love to read the directions to.
